Mihir Sheth

BSc MSc

Research Assistant/Innovator

Mihir Sheth is working as part of a multidisciplinary team to study the clinical impact of using Oxygen Nanobubbles to improve the efficacy of oxygen delivery to tissues of patients with chronic respiratory diseases.

He has prior experience in medical device development having worked at a medtech startup in the USA, and as an Oxford Global Insight Fellow. He firmly believes that healthcare innovations should be need-pull and not the tech-push methods commonly seen in healthcare.

Mihir uses Need-Led Innovation for impactful healthcare innovation. He has immersed himself in hospitals in Kenya, Senegal, India and the UK to develop and implement solutions with and for healthcare professionals. His development of a medical device to improve the respiratory muscle strength for patients on the ventilator led to him being named as one of the 2021/22 Young Innovators Award winners by Innovate UK and The Prince’s Trust. In 2023, he received the Young Engineer of the Year Award by the Royal Academy of Engineering.
