Søren Kudsk-Iversen

Global Health Anaesthesia Fellow

Dr Kudsk-Iversen is an anaesthetic trainee based in Oxford with an interest in surgical care systems in the humanitarian setting, especially around the use of routine data for monitoring and evaluation of quality of perioperative care.

He has completed an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship (ACF) in Global Anaesthesia through University of Oxford. Since the ACF, he has collaborated with a variety of leading aid organisations and academic institutions to undertake pragmatic research looking to quantify the role of non-governmental surgical care in humanitarian settings, and the quality of the care provided.

Current projects include being co-PI on a study on surgical capacity in Northwest Syria as part of the NIHR funded “Research for Health System Strengthening in Northern Syria” (R4HSSS - r4hsss.org/), as well as leading the Humanitarian Surgical Outcomes Study (H-SOS, h-sos.org/).
