Søren Kudsk-Iversen

Anaesthetic Consultant

  • Anaesthetic Sustainability Lead, Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
  • Research Associate, Conflict and Health Research Group, King's College London

Søren is an anaesthetic consultant based in Oxford with an interest in the use of routine data for quality in resource constrained surgical care systems, as well as the intersection between planetary health and health inequity/global health.

He has completed an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship (ACF) in Global Anaesthesia through University of Oxford. Since the ACF, he has collaborated with a variety of leading aid organisations and academic institutions to undertake pragmatic research looking to quantify the role of non-governmental surgical care in humanitarian settings, and the quality of the care provided. Furthermore, he has been involved with research on surgical capacity in Northwest Syria as part of the NIHR funded “Research for Health System Strengthening in Northern Syria” (R4HSSS - r4hsss.org/).

In his capacity as anaesthetic sustainability lead at Oxford University Hospitals, he was awarded the staff recognition award for sustainability, and is leading on projects exploring the links between deprivation and planetary dysregulation.
