Anaesthesia self-inflating bag

Anaesthetists within the OUGSG are involved in a range of research activities with particular interests in:

  • Anaesthesia workforce training and education
  • Interactions between anaesthesia professionals of all cadres (task-sharing)
  • Surgery and anaesthesia in humanitarian settings
  • Improving access to training using mobile devices (the LIFE project, a Kenya-Oxford collaboration hosted by the Oxford Centre for Tropical Medicine and Global Health)

Critical care interests are led by Dr Eamon Raith (visiting researcher with the OGSG) and include:

  • Trauma, surgical and obstetric critical care
  • Neurocritical care in the low-resource setting
  • Public health aspects of critical care medicine
  • Reducing global inequity of access to critical care medicine
