Oxford Paediatrics Linking Our Research with Electives (OxPLORE) is an international research collaboration connecting medical students and junior doctors around the world.

Founded in 2017, it has partnered and facilitated relationships between Oxford elective students and medical students and junior doctors in other healthcare settings. The steering committee meets regularly to discuss and develop research projects and collaborators are always fully credited and mentored to produced presentations and publications. Phase one was focused on Oncology and we have investigated Wilm's tumour and neuroblastoma in Tanzania and Rwanda.

Phase two is investigating children's surgical capacity and resources, through the practical application of the Optimal Resources in Children's Surgery (OReCS) document which was produced by the GICS network. We are investigating its use in 11 collaborating centres across 8 countries and anticipate the findings to inform national surgical planning.
